Marshall 225th LogoMarshall Moving Forward, a 501c non-profit organization, is sponsoring the year long celebration of the 225th Anniversary of the formation of the territory we know today as Marshall, Virginia (formerly Salem).  Since 1797, Marshall, Virginia has a long rich history and was home to many who formed our Country. Thousands of acres of farmland, small crossroad villages and commerce provided a way of life that expanded for centuries.  Modern day Marshall maintains the agricultural approach while the service district offers opportunities for economic growth and vitality.

We are celebrating the 225th anniversary of the founding of Marshall by offering special events throughout the year.  Beginning with an Earth Day Clean event in April, the third annual Marshall Farmers Market, and a celebratory weekend on September 28-30, 2023. This weekend will include the “Taste of Marshall”, historic walking tours, the Marshall Fireman’s Carnival, Fall Festival and Marshall Day at Marshall Parks and Recreation.

Throughout the year, we will sponsor a lecture series hosted by the Fauquier Heritage & Preservation Society, a Veteran’s Day Event and the Marshall Christmas Parade.

There are legacy projects that will be included such as a recorded video/audio history of residents of Marshall. These recordings will be archived as a living history for many generations.

A commemorative color Marshall 225th Anniversary program (8.5”x11” saddle stitched) will be printed as a keepsake, and will offer maps, history and events of this celebration.

For those interested, we have sponsorship opportunities for this year long event please call 540-364-9500, in**@ma**************.com">email  or register here. The reservation deadline is April 15, 2023.

Respectfully,
