Welcome to the Marshall 225th Anniversary Celebration
As the chairperson of this year’s celebration, I am honored to lead a committee dedicated to bringing together the community and celebrating our rich history. With cooperation with the Fauquier Heritage & Preservation Foundation and the Afro-American Historical Association of Fauquier County, we have been working hard on this event. After several months of collaboration, we are thrilled to finally get to share it with you.
Since 1797, Marshall, Virginia has a long rich history and was home to many who formed our Country. Thousands of acres of farmland, small crossroad villages and commerce provided a way of life that expanded for centuries. Modern day Marshall maintains the agricultural approach while the service district offers opportunities for economic growth and vitality.
We are celebrating the 225th anniversary of the founding of Marshall by offering special events throughout the year. Beginning with an Earth Day Clean Up even in April, the third annual Marshall Farmers Market, and a celebratory weekend on September 28-30, 2023. This weekend will include the “Taste of Marshall”, historic walking tours, tours of the historically black churches, the Marshall Fireman’s Carnival, Fall Festival, and Marshall Day at Marshall Community Center.
An event of this magnitude can only happen with the entire community. I would like to personally thank all of the volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who have helped make this event possible.
