Tour of Historically Black Churches in Marshall

In partnership with the Fauquier Heritage and Preservation Foundation and the Afro-American Historical Association of Fauquier, Marshall Moving Forward is presenting tours of the historically black churches in Marshall, Virginia, as part of the year-long celebration of the Marshall 225th Anniversary Celebration.
Including Salem Baptist (Rosstown), Mt. Nebo, and First Ashville Baptist, this tour will begin at Fauquier Heritage Preservation Foundation’s Gott Library, where you will board a bus that will take you to all locations. A brief history of each church will be provided by a church representative. Reservations required to reserve your seat on the bus, but you are welcome (and encouraged!) to follow along with us in your own vehicle.

Two Tours beginning at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm

10:00am: Leave Callaway Classic Cars parking lot (8323 Main Street)

10:10am:  Arrive First Ashville Baptist Church

11:00am:  Leave First Ashville Baptist Church

11:10am:  Arrive Mt Nebo Baptist Church

11:30am:  Leave Mt Nebo Baptist Church

11:40am:  Arrive Salem Baptist Church

12:00pm:  Leave Salem Baptist Church

12:10pm:  Arrive Callaway Cars parking lot

2:00pm: Leave Callaway Classic Cars parking lot

2:10pm:  Arrive First Ashville Baptist Church

2:30pm:  Leave First Ashville Baptist Church

2:40pm:  Arrive Mt Nebo Baptist Church

3:00pm:  Leave Mt Nebo Baptist Church

3:10pm: Arrive Salem Baptist Church

3:30pm:  Leave Salem Baptist Church
