Welcome to Marshall!
Once called Salem, Marshall is named for United States Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall, whose ancestral home can be found just up the road at Oak Hill.
Fauquier County is among the finest horse country in Virginia. Some of the most beautiful farms in the county are nearby. The Orange County Hunt sometimes comes in sight of the town when hunting foxes. It is not uncommon to see horse trailers and vans parked on Main Street. Hounds and horses abound in this area.
Businesses in Marshall are unique. Located in the heart of Marshall, Field & Main is a one-of-a kind restaurant that specializes in locally sourced, farm-to-table cuisine. Red Truck Bakery and The Whole Ox also offer curated selections of house-made pastries, locally raised meats, prepared foods and pantry staples. The recently added Cupcake Heaven bakery surely will satisfy your sweet tooth. Take a break and enjoy Half Past Moon’s specialty coffee or cappuccino on their front porch or savor delicious tacos from Tapatios or La Palmita.
In the West and East of Main Street you may enjoy the homestyle cooking of Marshall Diner, Old Salem Cafe and Nick’s Grocery.
When it comes to shopping, Marshall Curated, Cube Minerals, The Middleburg Humane Foundation Resale Boutique,
Vintage, Tri-County Feeds, and many other surrounding businesses make Marshall an exciting place to shop.
The Marshall community is also home to several churches, a community center, and library, making it a great place to call home.
